Chili Lime Shrimp
This Chili Lime Shrimp recipe is zesty and delicious! It is a great low carb way to satisfy your Mexican cravings to enjoy as either an appetizer or an entire meal.
Ingredients
- 5 T butter
- 8 garlic cloves chopped
- Zest of a lime
- 1/3 cup sherry (or other dry white wine)
- 1 lb raw shrimp (peeled / deveined)
- 2 teas chili powder
- ¼ teas cayenne pepper*
- ½ teas cumin
- ½ teas coarse black pepper
- ½ teas sea salt
- Handful of fresh cilantro chopped
- Juice of 2 limes
Instructions

Over medium heat, in a large skillet, melt butter.

Add garlic and zest and cook for 1-2 minutes (while stirring often – be sure not to burn the garlic).

Then add sherry and let it reduce for about 1-2 minutes.

Reduce heat to medium low, add shrimp, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt and cook for about 5 minutes (or until shrimp is fully cooked)* while occasionally stirring.

Add lime juice, cilantro and stir.

Remove from heat and serve.
Chili Lime Shrimp Recipe Notes:
*Depending on your preferred level of spiciness, you can omit, reduce or increase the amount of cayenne.
*Depending on the size of the shrimp, cooking times can vary. Cook until pink all the way through.

This Chili Lime Shrimp recipe pairs well with just a simple arugula salad and nice bottle of dry white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or a margarita. If you are not watching your carbs, you will love dipping some crusty bread in the sauce or enjoy within a tortilla.
